DEBLOATING
One of the most important things in Looksmaxxing is with no doubts debloating.
The very important thing about this is that debloating DOES NOT WORK IF YOU ARE FAT!!! If you are above 15% body fat don’t even consider that you’re bloated because you just haven’t lost all the facial fat you could.
So if you’re above 15% bf save this thread for later.

1. What causes bloating?
There are a lot of factors that cause bloating:
• Water retention
• Lack of sleep
• Inflammation
• High sodium intake/ low potassium intake
• Lymphatic congestion

2. How do you debloat?
1: Reducing water retention

The body oftentimes stores water in response to:
• Salt
• Dehydration
• Hormonal fluctuations
Now what to do?
• Drink enough water
• Reduce salt and highly processed foods
• Eat potassium-rich foods (bananas, avocados, dates, etc.)
• Limit alcohol

2: Improving lymphatic flow

The face has a lymphatic system that removes excess fluid.
If it’s sluggish swelling occurs.

Methods:
• Lymphatic drainage
• Cold therapy
• Sleeping with a slightly elevated head
• Regular physical activity

3: Reducing inflammation

Chronic, low-grade inflammation can make the face appear puffy.

Helpful approaches:
• Omega-3 fatty acids
• Less sugar and highly processed carbs
• Antioxidants (berries, green tea)
• Stress management

4: Hormonal balance

If you’re a woman, which there obviously won’t be any on this forum: your menstrual cycle might play a role.
Now for all the non-foids:
Managing your cortisol is very important.
Now what to do to keep your cortisol low?
• Regular sleep
• Consistent meal times
• Reducing chronic stress

5: Short-term vs. long-term effects

Short term:
• Cold therapy
• Lymph massage
• Salt restriction
• Plenty of water
Long-term:
• Diet
• Sleep rhythm
• Stress management

SUMMARY:
Facial debloating reduces water and inflammation trough hydration, lymphatic activation and hormonal balance.

Now the final part:

Debloating trough the use
of Diuretics

Diuretics increase the excretion of water (and electrolytes) via the kidneys.
Now there’s long-term and short-term debloating trough diuretics.
I chose two famous substances to talk about as examples for long and short-term diuretics.

Long-term diuretics (Eplerenone):
Class: Aldosterone antagonist (potassium sparing diuretic)
How it works:
• Blocks aldosterone
• Sodium and water retention goes down
• Chronic fluid buildup goes down
• Has a slow, stable and hormonally mediated effect

Works as regulation, not instant dehydration

Effect on debloating:
• Reduces chronic, hormonally driven bloating
• Particularly effective in:
• Cortisol related water retention
• Hormone related imbalance
• Mild generalized edema

In the face:
• Less morning puffiness
• Contours appear more even
• No overly hydrated look

Time profile:
• Onset: days to weeks
• Effect: Continuous
• No peak, no crash

Advantages:
Stable
Low risk of acute sunken appearance
Minimal electrolyte disturbance
Suitable for long-term regulation

Short-term diuretics (Furosemide):
Class: Loop diuretic
Mechanism of action:
• Blocks Na+/K+/Cl- transporter in the loop of Henle ( I know that’s completely from ChatGPT wouldn’t be able to explain that myself for jack shit)
• Causes massive sodium & water excretion
• Very strong and fast

Effect on debloating:
• Strong, visible effect within hours

• Reduces:
• Facial puffiness
• Eyelid swelling
• Soft tissue volume in the jawline

Time Profile:
• Onset: 30-60 minutes
• Duration: hours
• Afterwards: Rebound risk

Advantages:
Very fast effect
Highly visible

Risks:
Electrolyte loss
Dehydration
Blood pressure drop
Rebound water retention
Face may appear sunken/tired

THAT IS IT WITH THIS THREAD!
Hope you enjoyed
