I got on the bus and my card declined (super embarrassing, people were looking at me while i desperately tapped it multiple times after) i eventually got off and as i was about to walk away in defeat, a foid asked if my card had declined (she wasnt on the bus, she was queued outside), i told her it did and she offered to pay

I did that the other week at the selfcheckout some old woman was trying to buy catfood and her card kept declining while i was waiting and I paid for it

I wish. I think she felt bad. She was a flight attendant (who get free busses where I am), so £3 isn't really a hassle. She (and everyone else on the bus) probably thought it was pathetic that my card denied, even though it was the machine fucking up since my card had £10 on it
