Just like the Will Smith slap was staged to save the Oscars. "Live" shows aren't live anymore. It's always a few minutes off, or unless it's the final minute to New Years. So if that was real, it would've been cut and edited out.
The reason why they're not live anymore is because of inappropriate acts and potentially terroristic ones. It's mandatory by the FCC to allow time for editing or possible cut of the feed.
Also, if Will Smith's slap was real, the actor would have been arrested for assault. Its the fucking law!
