Think about it accutane is just vitamin A so if you get vitamin A from other sources shouldent they have the same effect, you may experience higher acne removal with accutane but thats just cus thats a higher dose, so i think if you ate the same ammount but with normal food you would reach the same level that accutane has. I eat around 50000-75000 IU per day and i feel fine and i heard some accutane pills are on that level

Is this a high iq post:unsure::unsure::unsure:

Isotretinoin reduces gene expression of lipids in your liver.

Also, chronic high intake of vitamin A can induce hypervitaminosis, whereas retinoids (particularly isotretinoin given it is orally administered) will only mimic this state though to a safe extent, at the correct dose.

In simple, if you eat so much vitamin A in your diet, to have a comparable effect to isotretinoin at any particular dose, you'd just be causing hepatotoxicity relatively greater than that of isotretinoin.

Maybe it'll help, but not much, not sustainably either.

Accutane like shuts your immune system off or something, if you want vit a also just eat liver, theres 0 chance to overdose on the vitamin a from it too so you can just spam as much as you can, atnost copper might be an issue depending on what else you eat

I never said there was an issue, but you're offering it as an alternative to isotretinoin with the remark "if you want vit a" implying they're somehow comparable.

They aren't comparable. Accutane is literal poison, a high vitamin diet is supposed to be the natural baseline jfl

it's an unnatural synthetic derivative that the body clearly can't handle properly. Turns you bones green or something, that tells me everything I need to no.

Humans, by default, don't have any acne, so if you have acne, you're doing something wrong and it doesn't mean you need to take a substance with side effects to fix it imo. that's just my opinion tho bhai

Bit of a hyperbole.
I suppose, but it can only negatively impact your health, not worth the risk when you can just cut out high linoleic acid foods

That is not going to downregulate sebaceous gland activity to the extent that you just won't have hormonal acne.
Isotretinoin is a Godsend when used correctly, and it's pretty fucking hard not to.

If you took 30 seconds to research this, you would know this is from particular antibiotics, not isotretinoin.

Yes, that's your opinion, not fact. You're free to think what you want, but you're wrong.
You cannot reference hundreds of years ago and act like we live in the same world, where the only thing different is the food we eat.
Kids are going to get acne, sometimes irrespective of whether they eat well, sometimes topical retinoids won't work, so isotretinoin is their best and only bet.

downregulating the sebaceous glands with exogenous synthetic chemicals is not necessarily required to cure acne. The sebaceous glands aren't just overreaching beyond their natural required amount for no reason, it all boils down to health(diet/environment)

Yeah, you're right, let's just ensure that teenagers are exposed to absolutely zero endocrine disruptors (physically impossible), and eat the absolute best food possible all the time (something nobody will do).
What a naive take.
Your point relies on a person being raised in a perfect environment with literally zero negative circumstances ever occurring + consistently perfect habits. That is not even an unrealistic view, that is literally an impossible view.

I would be strongly against my siblings or child taking accutane and I think you'd be a fool to recommend it. People literally have to cycle on and off of it because of how toxic it is and constantly complain about how hard it is on the body. I think it is unnecessary ~95% of the time it is used(pulled that number out my ass)

Nobody has cycled on and off. That's not a fucking thing JFL
You also admit to pulling numbers out of your ass.
Say what you want but I am DNR'ing any future replies because you have discredited yourself multiple times and proven that all your perspective is based on is random anecdotes that are incorrect, or biases that you have based on random anecdotes you've likely read.

see now you're doing the hyperbole, you don't need the "absolute best food" or "zero endocrine disrupters" you just need to not eat copious amounts of plant oils for the most part and consume plenty of animal fat and micronutrients. People have done this for 100's of thousands of years, it's not wild to propose.

Even if you aren't raised in a perfect environment, it's not too late to switch to a better lifestyle and cure the acne that way after the fact. That's what I would recommend over jumping straight to accutane

they don't call it cycles but they do "rounds" or "courses" incrementally if the acne is sever enough because prolonged exposure is 100% substandard for health, I'm beginning to think you're quite young because you're being quite ignorant on this

Yes, it's not based on hepatotoxicity. Just DNR him, he has no idea what he's talking about. Even high doses of isotretinoin do not raise liver enzymes that significantly to where it is a concern i.e., they are above RR.

Exactly, this is the reason isotretinoin was engineered in the first place to replace the old oral tretinoin which was studied back in the 50s but was found to be extremely hepatoxic
