The reason you are always attracted to people that you have to prove your worth to is because you are so used to trying to impress your parents for attention. You think you need to convince others to love you and show you attention when it’s not true. You must learn to love yourself first

I will ask out this girl who I have liked for a while in a few days. If she says no it’s not the end of the world, if she says yes I will be really happy. I have decided I will compliment her and strike up a conversation and then invite her to church with me. I’ll say whether she said yes or no on here in a few days probably.

it's true, my family is narcissistic and did a lot of damage. The more I distance myself from them, the better I feel. And when you're happy with yourself you attract better people.
