Realizing this more now that I'm going to muay thai regularly.
I like learning from everyone. I like being able to develop a skill and improve myself with people who I feel obligated to improve alongside.I grew up raised entirely by women, and while they loved me, I think there was always something missing.

I mean ideally you learn from your mistakes perhaps not always the first instance of making a mistake but it’s not hard to fill in the blank after a while

I think one of the main issues is that what I learned was a lot of fear based behavior/passivity. I learned that life was hard and the easiest way to get by was to hide and rot in comfort. I didn’t have any difficulties with that, so why would I stray?
I know it’s bad, but every failure causes lasting damage, and without guidance, you’re just fucking up so much, making yourself more anxious, feeling more alone and withdrawn. Eventually you just feel the best option is giving up.

But I can’t do that. Being around other guys who are motivated and disciplined and willing to offer me bits of guidance makes me feel like less of a piece of shit, like I have people in my corner besides my mother.

I love my father because he made me strong, he was always tough and hard on me, sometimes pushing me to the extreme, cause at times I was depressed and overwhelmed, but it was for a good cause and now I understand it, I’m now adjusted for facing problems in my life and everything feels easier
