Hello! This is my first thread on this forum, and i am excited to tell you guys a brief introduction on HOW TO BE FUNNY
1. First of all, if you want to be funny and charismatic drop the classic jokes (unless your chad
) they wont work, there is no punch or any attention catching stuff about them. They are JUST PLAIN
2. The single most important thing about being funny IS being unexpectable. Think about the funniest guy you know, does he have predictable jokes or actions? NO. The reason for this is because our brains are wired around expecting and trying to find patterns, unexpectability breaks this. Ideally you want to trick someone to expect the joke or action, and then do something unexpectable. VERY SIMPLE THING TO IMPLEMENT.
3. Do NOT make long jokes, this kills every piece of attention you have from other people, keep it short simple and… unexpected. When you have to explain your joke it kills the dopamine reward of the person your telling the «joke» to.
4. An important factor in being funny is absurdity and being dark. This is where low inhib comes in handy, tell jokes that will be edgy/on the edge, use IRL elements or online elements. This is incredibly important in the aspect of telling unexpected jokes, beacuse this creates prediction error=unexpected.
5. Understanding the mood/vibe of the room is GIGA important. Lets say your in a funeral, you can still be funny, but the tone of your jokes/actions NEEDS to fit in the sorroundings. Being alone while having a good time with friends, is the sort of «time» where edgy and absurdity is key. All this goes under TIMING.
