i was js thinking about this in terms of my own perspective on like sympathy and i suppose my own lack of ability to feel or express it
for example i was thinking abt my therapist and like i couldnt understand how u as an individual would prioritize improving the conditions of someone else’s life over like just doing ur job to receive the paycheck
this could apply to any medical practitioner obv
like from my perspective the primary motivating factor has to be that ur receiving payment for this, not that u actually care about the long term course of the person ur trying to help’s life
now perhaps its true that money does take priority over actual care but then again u have to consider like, esp with a therapist for example, there are so many other professions where u could generate a similar income without like so directly assisting other’s lives, so there must be an element of carefulness involved
but idk its js interesting to think that my brain instantly went to: they’re doing it for the paycheck not cuz they rly care
i was thinking abt smth similar earlier i mean this is a retarded example but why do so many niggas like talk about ramirez like oh he’s such a disgusting serial killer do u realize what he did etc etc and my mind immediately went to: virtue signaling. cuz like why tf would i care abt some 90/o mexican women getting raped 50yrs ago, like i js genuinely cant feel any sort of emotion towards that cuz it feels so illogical to care abt it
and all of this just extends to the views ive seen other ppl on this forum display, hence T
