A Myostatin Inhibitor Has Been Approved In The USA For The First Time Ever

On Sept. 11, 2026, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in the USA officially approved apitegromab (brand name Isembyld), a myostatin inhibitor that inhibits muscle loss and can even induce muscle growth. It was approved to help spinal muscular atrophy (SMA).
