A titan forged by duty’s strong embrace,
With steady heart and ever-mighty hands,
He shaped the land with courage, truth, and grace.
When shadows lurked and tempests filled the sky,
His thundered voice did call the storm to heel,
No tyrant’s will nor folly passed him by,
For he was forged of iron and of steel.
He spurred the steed of progress o’er the plain,
And bade the weary rise with lifted gaze,
He broke the gilded shackles of disdain,
And set the flame of freedom’s holy blaze.
With dauntless stride he tamed the roaring deep,
And carved his name on battle’s hallowed ground,
A guardian strong where weaker spirits weep,
He rose unbowed when darkness gathered round.
No gilded throne nor idle praise he sought,
But raised his hand where suffering held its sway,
A shield for those whose liberty was bought,
