when they are teenagers, they spend most of their free time and weekends alone at home, avoiding socialization and drinking with friends, and start wearing that fact as a badge of honor, acting like it's a sign of their maturity and moral superiority
by the time they get into their early 20s, their depression has already eaten their souls, so they finally stop denying they are miserable and seek psychological/psychiatric help. in the next few years, they become addicted to drugs like hypnotics and benzodiazepines (a lot of studies about attractive people being more prone to developing addictions)
in their late 20s, when most people have already finished with partying and have families, jobs and stable lives in general, those chads start drinking in their rooms almost every day because the pills dont work anymore. they feel like idiots for wasting their youth the way they did, and it's almost impossible for them to cope with that fact when they are sober
