I used to think people’s self-awareness was tied to some kind of “synchronization rate” that determined how conscious they were and how fully they lived in the moment. As a kid, I believed I had a near-perfect 100% synchronization rate with myself. I felt like I could act however I wanted at any time, change my mood instantly, and shift my thoughts without hesitation. If I wanted to feel a certain way or change something about myself, I could just do it.

But I noticed that not everyone seemed to work like that. A prime example was my school teachers (especially the really “NPC-like” ones). I thought they had a low synchronization rate because they always used the same dialogue, reacted predictably, and never seemed to shift their behavior. It wasn’t just them, though it was other people around me too. As a child, this confused me and made me feel kind of bad, like: Do you not have the ability to think anything you want?

At the same time, I could recognize that some people felt like they had a higher synchronization rate than others. My little brother definitely felt like a “conscious being” sometimes he would blurt out things I had been thinking, as if reality itself nudged him to say them out loud. It was really strange. And it hurts to admit this, but another one of my brothers gave me the opposite feeling. I didn’t get the sense of a fully “conscious” person from him in that same way.

I’m not sure if I articulated this clearly or if it just sounds like some schizo ramblings but this idea was really prominent for me growing up and honestly, a part of me still kind of believes it. I just cant comprehend that some people are as concious as me from the way I perceive them theres just no way its on the same level as me atleast, honestly thinking about it more I wouldn't be surprised if future scientists researched and found out that not all humans have the same rate of conciousness I feel like thats very plausible.

You cant make theories on neurology if you're 14 years old and haven't even graudated highschool. Only the most knowledgable ppl make theories.

it felt more deeper than that but I can see your point
yeah i kinda get where ur going at
some divine idea that humans have a level of awareness of their ideas/actions/etc.. i think its that

i never expressed those ideas but i had superstitions when i was younger like, being more aware and mature than other people

interesting although I feel like that last idea can be tangibally explained by people rationally, trauma can age people faster for one, stress, etc.
For me its more abstract this feeling of "being alive and conscious" and others feel like soulless robots, although not to that extent but you know what I mean

Idk if it's the same but when I was a kid I used to think that everything most ppl do is just what their animal instinct tell them to (1)continue living and in the end (2)reproducing. Example, eating drinking having seggs. So if u do anything that doesn't contribute to that then ur leaving ur animal nature and slowly becoming more conscious. Such as thinking abt space, history, philosophy type shit. I like to watch national geography and discovery channel back then so it's probably that. Idk if it's the same as what ur talking abt
