A short story about LastGerman

I was recently in Germany and the taxi man pointed to a hill and said "LastGerman use to live there". I saw the light from the sun light up this house, it was mesmerizing. During my stay there was a stray dog that stayed outside LastGerman's old house each day and night. The dog could truly sense that somebody good had stayed there at some point. This experience changed my life.
