Having a soft jawline and a worse hyoid area can hide the fact that your gonial angle is shit. If you have no jawline, it will be harder to tell that you’re down grown because there’s no shadow that outlines your gonial angle. If you have a hyoid that is flat but not tight in your jaw, your gonial angle will look much flatter at a 90 degree angle even though it’s not.
I am a believer that having a good gonial angle is way more important than having a jawline, as long as you’re not fat. If you have a good jawline but the angle is too obtuse, it might just be better to hide the jawline entirely in some cases
