a valuable reason for the preference of Dutch's sister language rather than Dutch itself

@Ghost philosophy(the only dutchcel ik on this site atp lol)

the title in short is a comparision between dutch and afrikaans and why the latter mogs

from my personal experience and attempts to learn dutch, i picked up alot of unnessecary overcomplication of sentances, either different variations of the afrikaans simple "die"
also theres no simple past tense in arikaans so thats just a bonus
theres also simplifications in verbs but thats too boring for me

to add to the point of simplicity, afrikaans also has a more phonetic and minor and in my opinion, easier letter usages ("s" instead of "z"; "y" instead of "ij), the irritating consunant clusters are also non existent

it also has more diversity, and thus feels more rich to speak, the afrikaans language has malay/native/portugese words that commonly get used in sentances

onto the part which i actually like which is expressions of ideas and thought, afrikaans jsut has a prefferable direct expression of thought compared to its origin, if i had to compare it i would say its more vivid than the former which is dutch, i see dutch as too formal and complex to be able to express everyday thought effectively, in terms of high intellectual thought, afrikaans has its problems as result of its complexity, but u can just trace it back to its origin and always borrow *wink* some words from dutch and thus complete your sentance
