I think people are underestimating the risks of MK, in short term studies with a dose of 10-25mg, HOMA-IR scores (insulin resistance index) rose by 20–30% on average within 2-4 weeks in both adults and teenagers. Fasting glucose levels also rose quite significantly.

Obviously there will be huge variances based on your metabolic health before starting MK, but keep in mind that if you’re young (18-19 and under) there’s an important thing to keep in mind, your natural gh and igf 1 is still elevated, adding MK will add gh and igf 1 on top of that, which can easily cause insulin resistance.

Also, if one of your parents or grandparents has diabetes, you’re at a much greater risk than someone who doesn’t.

Anyway, I’m not saying don’t run MK, I personally did one cycle of it, but you need to keep track of your glucose levels, eat carbs smartly, and consider supplementing berberine (helps insulin sensitivity/lowers blood glucose levels.)
