Having a gun is comforting. Not for my own safety but because it’s a quick exit button. Like when you’re playing GTA and you click join new session when you’re cornered and don’t wanna get killed so you end it all so no one wins. That’s what a gun is for me: it’s my escape. The wild card. The one door that remains locked unless I use a special key that only spawns in the deepest of despairs.
