Let’s face it, staying in touch with people today is largely digital, but, instead of constantly sending private messages like, “Hey, how are you? We’re grabbing a beer, are you coming?”, I’ve found a softer and more natural approach.

When someone posts a story or highlight, you can reply with something relevant, like:
“That place looks amazing! I’ve been there too, want to grab a beer there? We’re going tomorrow, want to come?”

It feels more organic and less intrusive, because the person has already chosen to share something publicly. A direct DM, on the other hand, can feel random or even unwanted if there’s no context.

What about spending 10 minutes a day browsing my followers’ stories, picking the ones You resonate with, and using that as a natural moment to connect?
You drop a casual comment, and if the vibe is mutual, the conversation can move forward.

Then, after a while, you can start grouping people, by interests, location, or hobbies, and create small social circles that keep things lively and active (and of course, people introduce you to more people, which keeps the network growing).

Is this a low pressure alternative to remembering who to message out of the blue, especially with acquaintances, not close friends?

Would this be superior to modern DM?

And then they just don’t reply to you or delete your post because you lower their social status by association. :feelswhy:
