I have been struggling for my entire life to do the things which I desire to do, instead of things which give me temporary pleasure. This is due to the fact that I cannot find stable pleasure, as I do not feel loved by anyone. I will not get into the details, but I have never dated anyone, and my family does not like me. I want to do things which benefit me, and those things (whether it be related to looks, or a hobby, one that I do is writing) do not seem appealing at first. I struggle with starting, but once I begin and I am dedicated I enjoy it. So, my question is: is there anything I can do to combat this?

You will always feel this way unless someone starts loving you. Hobbies are supposed to be things you do on the side. The main purpose of life is to love and be loved. If you don't have that no sane human is going to be able to keep going on doing some pointless hobbies

I see, thank you for the response
