What's the best type of creatine?
When should I take it?
Is it better to take it before or after a workout?
 
Just get the cheapest creatine monohydrate, anything else is a scam(overpriced) and cope. Take it before workouts preferably and daily, but even if you don't take it before having taken it daily in advance still makes it work for you on that day.

Probably take it a bit earlier if you can, takes time to go out into your system and reach muscles I think. But anyway most important part is just taking it sometime daily. Dosing before training by 30-120 minutes or so probably helps keep levels slightly higher and restore what gets depleted a bit during training and what your body and muscles used for metabolism earlier in the day. I often dose my creatine 1-2 hours before training but really what matters most is just daily build-up over weeks for max effect. Daily dosing over long periods is what makes nearly all of the difference/effects.
