Apparently, during the WW2, Italy, Croatia, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania and Nazi Germany played football against eachother hahaha


And they weren't playing on empty stadiums either. Around 10k people watched on average.


German team stopped playing around late 1944 because "most players got conscripted"

I am from europe, its just so weird to me that while countries were fighting their most important battles for the future of the continent, football was still being played
