Absolutely surreal to see the difference in your treatment based on looks over time

Title
I was an unattractive child, and i feel as if i wasn’t even seen as a human being by most people, rather a walking mass of flesh and bone who they interacted with out of necessity. It was like I wasn’t perceived as a conscious individual with thoughts and feelings. Over the next couple of years however, as my body and face matured the way I was treated changed drastically. I started making friends easier (though none of my personal habits/personality traits changed significantly), being part of jokes rather than the butt of them, and seeing people as a whole be truly kind to me for the first time. People who were once repulsed by me are now completely content with and even happy with talking to me, being jovial and empathetic as if they didn’t look down upon me a few years prior and see me as inferior or lesser. It causes a sense of disassociation, you begin to wonder if you, i mean to say the very essence of the soul, are even valuable to begin with. Thoughts?

I don't believe you made that much of a difference in your looks just through puberty unless you're a late bloomer

I don’t think it’s necessarily the fault of humanity for discrimination on the basis of looks. It’s an innate behavior that’s observed even in infants

Yeah it wasn’t insanely drastic but i was a relatively late bloomer so the difference became apparent within the past year or so

So humanity? Human instinct. Fault of humans natural materialism that’s grown over time.

It was an advantageous trait for past generations to ensure strong offspring, it’s ok to dislike the behaviors of humanity (misanthropy) but you can’t act as if it’s them at fault here.
