Accidentally messed up my friends chance with a girl

He had liked this girl for over a month and was deadass in love with her, like could not stop talking about her, so he was about to talk to her and ask for her number but was just super nervous about it so I took it upon myself to just call her over and tell her that my friend wanted to say something to her, he compliments her and she just gives an awkward thank you and walks away so i called her back over and told her he had liked her for a while and wanted her number and then she just looked at him and said no. keep in mind this guy was deathly afraid of talking to girls in general and this was the first big crush he had ever had so i def feel like i fucked it up for him even tho i was 100% confident she was gonna say yes
