According to 2026 LSE report you are 10x more likely to become wealthy if you are white British or British Indian compared to any ethnicity in the UK. The ones that are especially disadvantaged are Bangladeshis and Blacks.

Most Pakistanis in the UK like 2nd gen ones are mainly descendants of immigrants from areas like Mirpur Azad Kashmir. mostly labourers and low class people that worked in manual jobs and settled in northern England and the Midlands around Bradford,Birmingham, Manchester and couldn't speak English or had no formal education. While the Indians in the UK, came a decade later and were mostly skilled immigrants doctors, engineers etc . I also think Indians in general seem to be more career oriented and money minded

This is so brutal tbh @Wicket

Median wealth increased substantially for the Indian and White British ethnic groups during this period, while it remained near zero for groups like Black African, Black Caribbean, and Bangladeshi, and declined markedly for Pakistani groups.

If itโ€™s done by household is it not unfair because most Indians are living multigenerationally?

The report did take this into account and analysed wealth at both household and individual/benefit unit levels. The "benefit unit" was defined as typically a financially interdependent unit (like a couple or single adult with dependents not always the full extended household.

The patterns persisted even when adjusting for this. UK-born Indians and White British still showed advantages over those groups.
