Accurate method to measuring yourself

How do you guys typically measure your self when measuring ratios etc.

I usually do pixels from photos but I realized today that it's not that accurate especially with lens distortion.

Today I was measuring my chin philtrum ratio, and using pixels I got 1.7-1.8 which is not ideal ( 2.0+)

But measuring against a mirror with a tape measure, I got 2.2. (Didn't cheat btw, rounded down)
Which would be more accurate?

Pics I get 1:1.85 but IRL I got about 1: a lil over 2

Take photos from at least 2 meters away. It should remove any distortion.
