Some backstory is that I was on tret cream for about 5ish months and my skin cleared up decently but I was ended up getting a bunch of closed comodomes. Went to derm to try to nuke my acne once and for all, got prescribed 100mg doxycycyline and epiduo bfr a 6 week check up.

so I went to the derm today for my first follow up

i was on 6 weeks epiduo + doxycycline

i showed them my skin before and during the peak of the purge (my skin got rlly bad) and today’s skin (slightly better from purge but not better than baseline)
she offered me accutane and was like u don’t have really bad cystic acne (as i have more whiteheads) but she said she saw me as def a candidate
i signed up for ipledge and everything but ultimately she said shed give me time to consider it since i was on the fence
should I consider accutane?? i mean my skin got really rough in the purge of my current regimen but it’s slightly improved since then, for 2-3 weeks im continuing my current regimen then I have a follow up but i can literally text my derm anytime and get on accutane the next day as long as i get bloodwork first

im not a pussy regarding the side effects i could genuinely give less of a fuck about dryness or pain, the only thing scaring me is the growth plate closure. Im 17 about to be 18 but i was a late bloomer, im still slightly shorter than my dad (he was a late bloomer too) and i want to reach his height (an extra inch or so) and im afraid of the growth plate closure thing even though I know its overall not supported by data whatsoever (ive asked this in past threads).

Ill attach some photos of my skin for reference

Id appreciate any advice, thank you

Brother from experience, and I tried everything there is including the stuff you listed before doing accutane, DO IT. The side effects, except for your skin and lips being dry are so exaggerated. It's so worth it at the end so the sooner you start the better.
