yo so i wanted to share my journey on accutane for everyone who is deciding to hop on.
Im 55kg and 16 y old so im on 20mg with a private derm, since he doesnt gaf and js gets me the pills whenever i want any dose and so on, the reason im on 20 mg is becouse the side effects get much worse once you cross 0.5mg per kg of your bodyweigh meaning if i go in 3o i would have to be atleast 61 kg which im not so i will just stay on 20 for the whole treatment.
Ive started accutane on november 5th 25 meaning its been 141 days, my acne has gotten much better i went from having moderate acne on my forehead and especially around my mouth to basically none everywhere but my forehead but thats mostly becouse of my long fringe that traps the sweat and dirt i dont plan on changing my hairstyle since its my best "feature". Its one of the things girls compliment the most apart from my eyes.
In conclusion accutane is the lord of saving ur face from any type of acne.
Side effects, now ive exp only 3 those being: dry skin all over my body (especially hands and lower third of my face), very dry hair and also dry lips. I have a friend that had to quit tennis becouse his joints hurt too much ( knees and lower back mostly) i also exp some lower back pain but only when lifting heavy stuff aka weights mostly while putting them down since i dont deadlift or anything like that.
I also have a classmate whos on it and his skin and lips are dry asl, the reason being hes using the wrong products.
The key to having close to normal lips and moisturized skin is in the right products. Personally i love la roche posay especially their toleriane line.
My only concern is me losing some hair, i try to cope with oils that help a little but there really isnt anything for that. Most people lose very little or none, theres a small chance that you will a lot of your hair.

Its important to stay under 0.5mg per kg so the risk of it is lower.
