For some reason Accutane seems to have the opposite effect on me. I’ve been on it for the past two months and all it has done is make my acne worse I started purging and got a lot more red spots.

Last week I ran out of Accutane and since it’s hard to find in stock where I live I stopped taking it. Surprisingly my acne started clearing up on its own, and the red spots disappeared. I was honestly so confused when I woke up this morning.

In case you’re wondering if I might have been doing something wrong while on Accutane I wasn’t. I was eating healthy, avoiding fast food, drinking 3–4 liters of water a day, getting 8 hours of sleep every night, and moisturizing both morning and night.

For acne i was thinking of maybe switching to GHK or another type of peptide. If anyone else has any other recommendations be sure to let me know.

Maybe because your diet is fucking shit and your liver is giving up

It’s very common, for acne to comeback when you come off accutane.

i went from 20mg to 30mg

You took too much to start, and didn't use antihistamine to reduce the purge.

User error, lack of skill

You should have upped slowly, to get to 30mg it should have taken at least 3-4 months. 5mg, then 10, then 20, then 30.

Not all doctors are as intelligent.

You should have read a bunch of stuff here.

Derms don't keep up to date with the studies most of the time.

It will disappear over time this is temporary if you started taking it recently, just don’t overdose it and maybe even lower it.

Accutane is quite harsh on skin so I always mention tretinoin as its a decent one for skin for long term because it takes time to see the results. I use the one from skinorac and it took time to see the best results along with a moisturiser and spf from la roche posay.

Ehh 20mg to start isn’t bad. It’s pretty standard.

Why did you stop? One google search will tell you that you are in a purging phase.

Why aren’t you taking an antihistamine daily? That significantly prevents the purge.

Are you supplementing omega 3s? 2000mg twice daily is optimal. Take your accutane with a good amount of fat.

Supplementing omega 3s and an antihistamine are the big 2 things everyone should do on accutane.

User error fr. Get back on. Either u fix ts now or deal with acne/potential scarring for the foreseeable future.
