Accutane + Meclizine

I always see people say that while ur on accutane u should also take an antihistamine
I’m not educated on antihistamines at all but wouldn’t Meclizine work since it’s a first gen antihistamine?

Also what’re the reasons to use an antihistamine while on accutane

Antihistamines are important because accutane tends to make your skin really itchy, taking an antihistamine reduces this, also some people say it helps with the initial purging stage on the medication. Meclizine wouldn't work as it's for managing vertigo and motion sickness, instead use OTC medications like Claritin and Zyrtec.

you should mostly take it during the purging stage of acutane.
if u have low tolerance also take it if ur skin itches.
