Accutane Purge

been on tretinoin for about a year but my skin hasn’t improved much since i started. thinking about starting a low dose of accutane (10 mg/day) and was considering using antihistamines and zinc to help reduce the initial purge. is there anything else i can do to mitigate the purge?

my main concern is the purge, as i have multiple important events this upcoming year

Get BB cream or CC cream if you want to mask it; mix BB or CC with your moisturiser and apply it to your whole face so the tone is even (plus to the top of your neck, like around your submental area).

You will purge harder but faster if you do.
How long is a question that nobody can answer; any answer people give you is going to be arbitrary. Just take it until your skin is good, then take it for a little longer, then transition to topical retinoids.

great advice, thank you. ill probably stay on 10 mg then move up to 15-20 mg after 2 months to speed things up. I would use BB cream but my skin is super sensitive i only cleanse with water so getting it off my face would be an issue.

your very unlikely to purge
1. you have a good retinoid tolerance already
2. low dosing

i just stack zinc pico and fish oil on accutane and works fine for me
