Everyone has a different idea or different study that shows that accutane will make you or just stop your growth all together, but does anyone have any experience with it and if their growth plates fused faster or completely fused all together, I was thinking of hoping on 40mg which is not a lot so I was wondering if anyone had any evidence or experience with it I know everyone’s not the same but wanted an overall consensus?

fear mongering acne is next level
It’s just annoying would rather have it clear all the other sides are fine if the height side effects aren’t severe or quite rare

based on a study 3/216 men experienced early closure of thezones. the average patient was 5 years old, and the treatment lasted years

Nice what age did you start?
17, also I thought you meant general experience with accutane. In terms of height I can't really tell it's just be correlative because I might already be done growing.

But overall accutane gave me no sides except dry lips.

There's not enough evidence accutane slows growth anyways

Can't speak to the growth plate question, not my lane. But nobody in this thread is mentioning the actual thing that's
gonna mog you for the next 6 months: your skin barrier is about to get nuked, and if you don't prep for it you'll spend
the whole course looking worse than the acne ever made you look.

Few things that saved me watching a friend run a course:
- Drop every active. No BHA, no AHA, no retinoids on top, no benzoyl peroxide. The drug is already a megadose vitamin A —
stacking is how you end up with ribbons of flaking cheek skin
- Switch to a no-foam cleanser. Anything with SLS will obliterate you. La Roche-Posay Toleriane or CeraVe Hydrating,
that's it
- Tallow or a ceramide-heavy balm at night. Sebum production drops to near-zero, so you actually need an occlusive lipid
layer that mimics what your skin used to make. This is the one window where the tallow guys are unambiguously right
- Aquaphor on the lips before bed, every night. Not optional. Lip skin will split otherwise
- Shaving: if you're on a cartridge, drop to a single-blade or just use an electric for the duration. DE shaving on
accutane is a bloodbath — skin is paper. Wait till you're off to switch
- SPF every single day, even indoors near windows. Photosensitivity is real, sunburn risk is huge
Re: growth — ask your derm, not a forum (including this reply). The barrier stuff above is universal though, and nobody
warns you about it until you're 4 weeks in and your face is peeling.

Np man. Just remember the first 4-6 weeks get worse before they get better, dont panic and quit. Moisturize like your life depends on it too, the dryness is the real tax not the acne lol
