Do dermatologists only prescribe accutane to bad cases of acne. My acne is mild and ive been to the dermatologist over 8 times and they just keep prescribing cope products that dont work. Want to know if im wasting my time going if they arent gonna prescribe me accutane. My friend in real life had pretty bad acne and got prescribed accutane on the second visit and when I see people online talk about it they act like all you have to do is ask and they will just hand it to you. I have an appointment coming so we will see if they finally give me accutane and save me from acne hell.

That's my strat as well, I got a visit with a derm later next month after like a more than half a year wait, I'm just gonna go on a bp rant about how acne ruined my mental health

Bro im serious Ive suffered from severe acne for years and its almost all gone rn (except for scarring with some simple steps):

1. Went through 10 day antibiotic cycle (Amoxicillin and clavulanate) prescribed by doctor for unrelated infection
- Not necessary, but completely destroyed active acne, soothed skin, I cut off all skincare for this duration, only water

2. AVOID PROCESSED SUGARS, SHIT FAST FOODS, AND EAT HEALTHY AND NUTRTION
- Add supplements like D3+K2, Vitamin C, etc

3. Get on a shit ton of probiotics
- I go through 2 bottles of kefir a week, I also enjoy kombucha, yakult, yogurts, etc
- VERY IMPORTANT

4. Idk if this one is good for everyone, but:: QUIT ALL OF YOUR SKINCARE ENTIRELY !! ONLY WATER!!
- This did wonders for me, I can now foil shave without irritation, never feel dry or too greasy
- Recovers your natural skin barrier, you may face issues initially but will do you wonders

I just started drinking kefir, they dont have just plain kefir its usually flavored idk if that makes it less effective but its all i can get kefir wise. Try these products.
Eat less milkproducts, sweets and fast food.
The dermatologist has some knowledge, if he became a dermatologist by studying these topic for years.
If you really want to do it, then ask your dermatologist politely, what he thinks of potentially using accutane.

definitely try to get unflavored kefir, the added sugars can *possibly* cause issues. Honestly brand doesn't matter too much, but if you can afford it I'd reccomend going to healthy costly stores like akins and fresh market and whatnot, and buying their niche brands rather than walmart shit
