Is Accutane worth it?

It depends. Go to a dermatologist for it fs, so insurance can cover it. If you're paying its several thousand a month. They will make you use some sort of other skincare method first, to see if that will help. I was given a medical grade topical serum, and it worked wonders. Never had to use Accutane, but i was extremely rigorous and consistent on my skincare routine. I washed face first off using a sulfur bar, I let it sit for 5 minutes and have my pores absorb it. Then I wash it off, and use a toothbrush specifically for my face to try to remove any blackheads. Next, I use the topical serum, and rub it into my face. I let that sit for 10 minutes, and while it sits, I apply castor oil on my lashes and eyebrows. Then I use La Roche Pose Lotion, and put that on my face. You must wait that 10 minutes that way the serum is absorbed beforehand, and the lotion doesn't just mix with the serum. I have a night time lotion which is just regular high quality La Roche Pose, and then I have a daytime which also has 30 SPF sunscreen as well as lotion. I brush my lips with a toothbrush to remove any dead skin, and then apply Aquaphor which I have had better results of moisturizing than any lip balm. It sounds like alot bc it is, but if you do this 2x a day, hopefully you should see improvement. The only reason I reccomend this before Accutane is because it can have negative side effects as well. I have had not only siblings use accutane, but close friends in the BP community also. It will make you incredibly dry, to the point where it hurts to open your mouth from your cracking lips. No matter how often you apply moisturizer, you will be dry and red. It can affect other points of the body, for instance my friend had eczema because of this. Accutane has many positives, but a rigorous and consistent skincare routine can have just as many positives as you want it to. If you end up going the skincare route first which i 100% reccomend, then I have a few tips. Dont rub your face dry ever, no matter what you rub it with. Cloths are bacteria houses, and you're just spreading bacteria all over your face by doing that. If you need to dry your face, always tap. you are not clogging your pores when just tapping dry rather than rubbing. The most important thing is that there is no such thing as too sterile. Wash your hands constantly, use fresh wash cloths, towels, and sheets as often as possible for you. If theres anything else you're curious ab, please lmk, id love to help. Could you give me reputation as well if you're willing?

Depends on the the severity of your acne if it’s above moderate I’d do a full cycle of accutane and then use retinoids or microdose after
