Acne after stopping accutane?

This is my third annoying post asking about accutane. I’ve gone to a dermatologist and decided I’m just going to take a regular higher dose of accutane and quit drinking for a bit. Anyone who’s done standard dose, like 40-80 mg, and got off after 6 months as recommended, did you get acne after? Do the affects still last? Also how long was your purge with the standard dose? Appreciate any insight

ive done accutane for over 2 years now so you can trust me. better to do a longer term than just 6 months if you have bad acne. accutane is the best medicine for acne and should be used as much as needed. depending on how bad your acne is you might have to consider staying on accutane for longer. just get it thru your derm as they will do your bloodwork as well

I have pretty mild acne, just chasing model tier skin, I guess the main thing is I basically need alcohol for power inhibition so my philosophy was maybe higher dose for 6 months then get off and not worry about it anymore?

you have the right idea but i would stay off the alcohol while on accutane. but yeah u can do whatever dose you want

Yeah I’d stay off while on it, I wonder how affective it is for prevention after you get off

the dose should depend on your weight and time you want to take it.
Listen to your derm.
