what u doing exactly? and severity/type of ur atrophic scarring if u dont mind
I’m on 20mg accutane and using sunscreen/moisturizer/cleanser only rn, all the acne is gone but I’m gonna finish my cumulative dose to 150mg/kg bodyweight.

My scars are moderate boxcar/rolling scars across forehead and temples w/ some more boxcar/rolling scars on very edges of cheeks but ofc scars are very hard to classify into words, I tend to have broader scars, no icepick stuff

Treatment plan is finish accutane, get subcision a couple times on my forehead and temples, and then go from there based on results. Dr Davin Lim / new research says you can do fractional laser and microneedling while on accutane but I have yet to find someone who will do anything while on accutane and I’m on my 3rd dermatologist.

I have infinite money to go towards treatment so I’m hoping for at least 50-70% improvement and I’ll prob end up flying out to the doctors who actually treat acne scars all the time cuz I do not trust the avg derm who doesn’t deal with ts.

davin lim is kinda fishy tbh. see dr emil henningsen instead, hes located in denmark. ive seen plenty of people getting actual results from his work

Davin lim seems like a grifter tbh but he does get good results, like he’s got repeat customers flying in, but I was just mentioning how new research says fractional laser and microneedling are OK while on accutane

I’ll look into emil’s methods but it’s not like I was ever gonna go to australia anyway to get this treated. Prob won’t hit up europe either cuz I’m from USA.

he is indeed, i never would %100 trust him tbh
also, if ur going for subcision, never do taylor liberator or nokor if u dont trust ur practitioner %100 (thats where the "muh sagging :soy:" horror stories start btw, since they r sharp they go through everything so easily, including the retaining ligaments)
cannula is fucking awesome if you manage to get someone who knows how to perform subcision properly, i just got cannula subc + prp injection (will go for prf injection next session) 1 week ago, blunt cannula creates waaay more trauma under the skin, and as you know, more controlled damage means more results. my scars lifted quite a lot (no swelling rn), i think im gonna be happy with what i see in 2 subc + prf injection sessions (atrophy wise though) for texture meh ill probably go for dermabrasion to finish it off

Yes I am sticking to regular cannula, taylor liberator is a torture device, which also means I prob ain’t hitting up mark taylor for this lol.

Were your scars on your cheeks?

Only main question I have right now is how to microneedle myself at home to get maximum results, theoretically you should be able to do this every 4ish weeks which would be around 13 times a year. Idk what depth to go to though which is the main problem, 1mm is prob the goal but how do you determine if you’re able to go higher than that? Idfk.

I’m also gonna get red light therapy btw

yes, my scarring is only limited to my cheeks, youre lucky you have scars on the sides of your face

you will not be able to erase your scarring just by DIY microneedling, its just a teeny tiny collagen boost + it stops "working" after a while
just scroll through her vids, trying to fix her moderate scarring with DIY MN for years
she still doesnt get it... :lul:
i also did diy needling though, i have mild to moderate scars, minimum length i used was 1.5mm. dont go lower than that, it already does nothing basically so dont fuck around with length below 1.5mm. in my own opinion, not worth the hype, still give it a shot though, i'm willing to try again since my scars are untethered now, well see

don't. i'm serious, dont. waste of time and money. pure cope for atrophic scarring

I was talking like long term microneedling after I do all the real shit. Red light therapy is also good for you but I understand what you’re saying with the low ROI.

I’m doing the hard treatments first ofc.

long term microneedling is terrible, you'll fuck up with your elastin, it will literally age your skin, due to, well, youre putting your skin under constant stress. terrible idea, get phenol and risk cardiac arrest instead of aging your skin that much, literally more worth it long-term (if u manage to survive ofc :lul:)

Possibly, I haven’t researched enough, (and ofc I’ll research enough before I start), but doesn’t mean I’m not gonna attempt it x amount of times after I finish all my other treatments. Seems extremely safe considering everything that’s out there.

Good luck bhai, you lowk have the scars in good places though, you could just cover your forehead / temples w hair, I have decent scarring, probably not comparable to yours but its near my cheeks and even tho its not that noticeable its very brutal.

Subcision + Bella fill Filler is what im getting (obviously co2 aswell but the subc + filler is what rlly makes improvements) i dont care when people say "muh filler migrates", that only becomes an issue if youre trying to use it to imitate something that was never there before, like bones, or zygos. If the derma isnt a retard (like the one i am going to), then he will inject it in areas to lift ur scars up, quite literally just bringing back your old fat you lost + helping rejuvenate your skin and boost collagen. Other fillers are also good even though they can migrate unlike bellafill, like HA, which is dissolvable anyways but the migrating is minimal, because like i said ur mimicking something that was there before, your body and skin is already used to fat being there.

Look into bellafill I mighta heard sketchy stuff on that. Make sure you go to a rly good doctor, I’m gonna be flying out almost certainly. Also u didn’t mention skin suction post subcision — look into that. Otherwise I hope you get the results you need.

I totally get you. I have hypertrophic scars on my nose, wich are pure ropefuel. Not even talking about ice rolling and other shi on my cheeks. But hey, everything gonna be okay eventually

Hypertrophic is always tricker than atrophic. What are you doing to improve?

Nothing really. I can’t afford co2, and the corticosteroids I ordered for DIY injections got seized a few weeks ago. I’ve also been on Accutane for around 8 months - it “reduced” the inflammation in my nose, but the scars remain the same I guess. I also used some potent, topical corticosteroids for a while - but as expected they didn’t really work. Hopefully, I’ll be able to save enough to get them lasered off. Having those bigass bumps on already unideal nose is pure hell

Found a pic on Reddit, I have pretty much the same thing
