For a long time I’ve been researching acne solutions and before trying accutane I wanted to trial either tret or adapelene (0.01%). Every other product did not work what so ever for me and I was tired of being a turbo acne cel. I’ve been using adapalene for 8 weeks now, the first 3 weeks were a pretty brutal purge and trying to counter the dryness but I think my results are pretty good, I’m still working on redness, scarring etc. I’ve attached a before and after, apologies for the shit photos especially the before. Would love to hear your guys experience with adapalene it’s the first thing to work for me.

I’m buying adapelene soon. Could I bother you to give me a full guide on how and when to apply?

Hm, how long? What was your regiment and sides? If it’s making it worse at first that’s a good sign not bad

Good question. It sort of depends on each person. I was applying it before bed, then 2-3 days of break in between. On the break days I was using La Roche Posay Cicoplast B5. Which is sort of a need. When applying I was “sandwiching it” so light moisturizer, wait 15 minutes, then adapalene a pea size amount full face. Then wait and moisturizer again.

This is because for me it severely would dry me out despite not using any other product. I’m still trying to counter this but the dryness hasn’t really been managed until the last 2 weeks or so. Some of my friends on it didn’t have this issue and use it almost every night. Depends person to person. You will purge for like a month probably and that’s normal. Stay consistent, it will work

Adap EOD 0,1% 2 months then tret 0.05% ED 3 months

No clue why you would quit adapalene after 2 months especially changing to a stronger retinoid

There’s plenty of guides online. Just apply it at night and wash off in the morning, and make sure to use a moisturizer and sunscreen when you go outside.
