Saw it at walgreens the other day, I know its the only FDA approved retinoid for general use or whatever. Im not gonna bitch to my doctor about getting tretinoin or accutane, I just want an easy access retinoid. Is it effective at all? I know there are side effects right when you start it such as increased acne or whatever-im not a total pizza face but I get some acne here and there and I want to clear my skin up. My current routine is hyaluronic acid, salicylic acid moisturizer, niaciminide+ zinc, and normal/spf moisturizer depending on the time of day. I double cleanse in the shower each evening as well. Feedback would be appreciated.

I'm on differin 0.1% atm but I'm switching to 0.025% tret, up to 0.1% then hopefully taz.

If you just have a few spots here and there it wouldn't hurt to use it, maybe once every three days to start etc. They recommend to buffer when initially using it, so moisturiser then retinoid.
You should consult your derm tbh.

You can also get tret without prescription from alldaychemist or skinorac.

I didn't really get much of a purge from differin, I fear that will happen with tret tho.

What are the side-effects of differin anyway? I'll let you know if I had any of them.
