Some time ago, my dermatologist prescribed adapalene and recommended that I use moisturizer if irritation occurs.

If you find it very irritating, I recommend that you use the moisturizer and adapalene every other day. That is, you put the cream on, wait for it to dry and then apply the adapalene.

The truth is that when I used it, it really hurt me at first, my face was all red, lol. But my skin had never been so smooth.

However I didn't complete the whole process, my dermatologist prescribed it and recommended that after using it for a month, I go to a place to extract blackheads (which is why I used it).

After that process you are supposed to stop using the adapalene and just use cleansers.

The truth is, if it's really hurting you, I recommend it. The idea, as I recall, is not to use it with creams, but you have to get your skin used to the adapalene. In that sense, I recommend you use cream with adapalene and see when to stop using the cream and start only using adapalene.

Oh for fucks sake. You start out using once or twice a week and slowly build up frequency until every other day then every day to allow your skin to acclimate. If you just put it on every night at the start your skin will suffer.

In the UK i’m pretty sure you have to get referred to dermatology by a doctor, hence why i was at the doctors.

In that case just ask for a referral rather than having the doctor prescribe skincare directly. That’s what I ended up doing, and it worked well for me.
