For hopes in achieving glass skin I will be hopping on tazarotene after tretinoin usage to test which is more potent in giving you better looking skin.

I'll document the progress here biweekly so I can give my anecdotes on which is better and how harsh taz could potentially be on your skin, If anyone else has used taz/tret drop your experience with them here! and which of the 2 would you recommend in a continued skincare protocol long term.

I am on accutane but I'm almost at the end of my course so I'm looking to run this as post-acc collagen boosting and as an anti aging effect.

What do you guys think?

CURRENT SKIN PROTOCOL IS:

CeraVe Gentle Foaming Cleanser
CeraVe Water-Based Moisturiser
0.1% Tretinoin (Will exchange for taz now)

Very basic and I don't like doing the copes.

isotret as a long term skin regimen is pretty cope past the cumulative dose and could be liver heavy in the future. You typically only need 150mgxbody weight for all accutanes good promises.

Also isotret being systemic has less effects on the skin barrier and collagen production than topicals like tret/taz.

you have to use both, accutane for preventing acne through oil production, and tret/taz to increasing skin cell turnover and boositng collagen formation.

accutane = acne
tret/taz = acnescars
use ceramides to moisturise and wear a shit ton of sunscreen:Comfy:

wash face with water or anything, cleaners arent importsnt

you can use azelaic acid or any serum to deal with rosacea or redness like PIE or PIH:Comfy:

I recommend low asf dose like 10mg or less a day of isotret:Comfy:

Doesn't happen. Only complete subhumans get raised enzymes. Isotretinoin at 10mg won't even touch your liver.

tretinoin is a fucking meme. accutane is not inferior when it comes to photoagaing either so it's not like your losing collagen gains. Get off tretinoin and save yourself.

Why on earth would anyone do both? Do you know how nonsensical and retarded that is?

Isotretinoin's main active metabolite is all-trans-retinoic acid (tretinoin), adding topical tretinoin is just going to worsen irritation and do nothing that acctuane can't already do.

The amount of tretinoin used on the skin is MINUSCULE compared to the amount of isotretinoin that ends up converting to all-trans-retinoic acid. Even with the lowest dosages of isotretinoin you're getting far more tretinoin than what you'd get transdermally with just tret alone.

Even then, isotretinoin's ROA is multifaceted and it causes sebaceous gland apoptosis via FOXO1 signalling. Who in their right mind would even bother using tretinoin alongisde isotretinoin? Net zero gain with double the irritation.

Accutane is honestly one of the best drugs ever created.

utterly obliterates oily skin
noticeably shrinks pores
constantly exfoliates skin
increases procollagen III at the same rate as topical retinoids
treats hyperpigmentation & UV damaged skin

the list could go on.

Literally said "could be" and you decide to make a useless reply saying it's situational as if literally everything isn't case dependent. So no I wouldn't just universally advise people to just hop on isotretinoin for life when they could have liver issues. Also pretty useless to be on it after reaching 150+ cumulative. I'd rather just use tazarotene 4L
