Do ppl ever become genuinely happy after being sober? I feel like no matter how long I'm sober for its always in the back of my head and a distraction won't help. And ppl I've talked to also say it doesn't go away so what is it? It seems it's better off not being sober at least u get to he happy once in a while instead of being starved from something u crave so deeply.

Ppl that have been sober for years say they still crave it is it worth 10 years of it? When it's not even a guarantee you'll get over it?

Then if they drink what are they going back to?
You have to be miserable deep down to stop in the first place.
It's either don't drink or drink no in-between if you're addicted
