I’m a Brazilian in my 20s studying data science at a good university. Sometimes I manage to study, and sometimes I don't. This inconsistency has left me stagnant and falling behind in my coursework. My parents don't know the full extent of it, they think I'm just struggling a little, but they don't realize the magnitude of the problem.
I don't have a diagnosis, I can't afford a psychiatrist, and the public health system wouldn't prescribe Ritalin when I tried. I managed to take Ritalin illegally for one semester after selling a drawing to an American for $100, and it was the most productive semester of my life.
I haven't had access to it since then, and consequently, I've slipped back into this miserable state, only worse, because now I know what would help me, but I have no way to get it. The agony won't go away; there are always things I know I need to do, yet I don't do them. At the same time, I have no money, and my parents won't help, they hate the idea of medication and couldn't afford it anyway.
I feel like a failure. I know I'm not stupid, but I feel useless. I lack the strength and the solution to get out of this, and I keep thinking about how a simple pill would make all the difference. I feel like I've been stuck in this hole for years, and it's making me depressed.
Damn. I swear I’ve tried so many other things, dopamine detoxes, parasite medication, NoFap, B-vitamin supplements, and more, but I always end up back in the same hell. Literally the only thing that’s ever helped me is that damn Ritalin.
It’s such a ridiculous kind of problem, i know. But honestly, it’s really wearing me down.
Btw, t
