The very short girls (155-163cm) are embarrassed by their height. They absolutely want to compensate their dwarf height by taking a tall guy (+185cm), they won't even look at short guys. On the other hand, girls of "normal" height (164-170cm), are not embarrassed by their height and will look less at the height of their partner.

It's very paradoxical to say that girls who are not short don't mind going out with a relatively short guy, one would think the opposite.

(btw, if you are under 170cm and you are ugly, it's definitely over for you, btw even 180cm and ugly is very hard).
