Maintain humility and treat others with respect, even if they are significantly more retarded than you are. This requires truly seeing them as your equal, even recognizing someone with down syndrome as fundamentally the same essence of consciousness, and fully realizing that nothing separates you from them.
But do not make the mistake of acting under the premise that everyone possesses the same level of capabilities, and expecting them to reciprocate with the same respect and thought that you do. They will never see eye to eye to you, and expecting that will only drain your energy. You are not entitled to recognition, respect, or integrity just because you treat other people with such. A lot of people simply aren't capable of that.
Many people mishandle this, and they become fully convinced that they are superior, when they're actually just as puny as anyone else. Trust your intuition, be humble, restrain yourself when necessary, but respect others, and always have an open mind.
