So i recently went to an orthodontist to talk about my upcoming braces and she told me that i should remove my bottom wisdom teeth because they are growing in really badly and i need help if i should or shouldn’t do it because idk what it will do to my bone structure/bone mass
I’ve got a wide square/rectangular faceshape with i would say pretty good bonemass with my cheekbones and jawline being pretty visible and i want to keep my wide jaw.
any help?
Im 16

Also my orthodontist showed me some animation of how my teeth will move during the braces and i felt like it will move my maxilla back and not my jaw forward. And i feel like i will be recessed after? Any info on that?
She said that im gonna have them for 1,5 - 2 years

There is a chance that they won't cause problems but removing them won't do anything.

Please add your lateral ceph too.

Dont have a photo of lateral ceph on me rn, just emailed my orthodontist so i will post it here after

thanks for your help tho i really needed it

ok i see. and what do you need braces for? Teeth look pretty straight from the scans

Why would removing your wisdom teeth affect your bone structure?
Your maxilla has probably reached maturation at 16 anyway.

For overbite, my front teeth are covering my bottom almost completely + my bottom teeth arent very straight and i have a little gap between my front two teeth, barely noticable tho

I saw a lot of posts on tiktok etc that it made their jaw less wide or something, i don’t want that. Anyways thank you bro
