[ADVICE] Should I get my wisdom teeth removed?

17yo, I've had braces from 14 to 16 and been wearing retainers ever since I got them taken away. My dentist says my wisdom teeth might destroy the process and should take them out by the end of the year. Is this a good idea? I heard it could destroy my lower third
