Masculinity is important to attract women. That sounds intuitive. Masculine men = higher raw survivability. However, we also need to consider aesthetics and perceived intelligence.
We are naturally attracted to aesthetic things. I don't know why and I doubt it has been studied much, but we see it happen in animals and in humans.

It could be similar to why we like sparkly things(it reminds us of water, something vital to life). It could be that aesthetics, which is related to the sharpness of features, reminds us of a lack of mutation(tumors are round) and leanness. We also already know collagen and good fat pads are signs of health, they are shiny too. I am just bullshitting here but you get my point.
I believe this preference for beauty leads to fisherian runaway. The swordfishs with too long of a sword and the birds with the longest beak aren't going to have the best biomechanics, the male peacocks attract predators with their feathers, yet they are attractive to females.
Now, something more grounded in reason. Perceived intelligence.

An upturned mouth and pointer chin are the opposite of what we commonly think of as masc, but they are good for perceived intelligence.
