The only link between them Im aware of is that Afghans used to enslave Indians, they would bring them across the mountains of Hind Kush (which means Hindu killer) and they would die from the cold climate.

Lol what. I’m sure you know it was purely Hindu or Buddhist till 400 so years ago. And maintained high links to Pakistan

They were Buddhist, yes.
The Hindu religion stayed mostly in India as it originally came from the north and south directions, not east or west.

Depends which ethnic groups, the only related ones are Pashtuns, Gujaratis and maybe some Punjabis

It’s mostly a sprachbund or like continue with different admixture. Afghans and Punjabi’s seem to be almost genetically identical in some cases. But Tamils are different
