Guy saw I carry the cross and assumed I’d be willing to go to his church. I asked him if he knew what my cross was and he had no idea (I wear an orthodox one) I just laughed and said I’ll check it out and god bless

Ofc I won’t go I can’t stand Pentecostal churches all these faggots do is sing and dance. There’s 0 liturgy and important traditions. Catholicism seems more legitimate than this Protestant stuff. I’m not a sectarian myself @i_love_roosters but it’s thanks to these Protestant Pentecostals who I stopped going to church in the first place (haven’t been in over 8 years)

I’m aware I used to go there. I have found devout BBC foids who go and the occasional cumskin there but generally as I said all they do is sing sing and sing they make church sound like a concert. It’s quite unsettling though I’ll admit once you get into it it’s quite energising but once you realise you could have stayed at home and prayed yourself you realise it’s all for naught

Christianity is quite simple, brother

Matthew 18:20. "For where two or three are gathered together in my name, I am there among them"

Y'all complicate it too much with "muhh Apostolic church"

Yep. They are bootleg churches absolute memes made to be watered down forms of praise. Honestly trust Americans to dumb down everything and make it commercialised. Hitler was right about Americans

Most don’t baptise in the name of “the father son and Holy Spirit” only in Jesus which goes against the apostles teachings in Paul which proves my point bro. Some of these traditions are crucial and cannot be mistaken. Today I attend my first Orthodox Church. Yes today I go There for the first time

I’m orthodox. We don’t worship saints we VENERATE them which is ALSO what the apostles did. Only MUDslimes and Protestants and Jews think they get worshipped. I’ll admit I don’t venerate saints often myself because I find it a bit odd.

The “weird holidays and shit” are part of our church founding traditions :forcedsmile: thanks for proving my point little Protestant you don’t even know your own religion lool. Keep going to your supermarket turned Church next to best buy and keep singing like a concert nigga

I’m not even religious lmao but it’s funny to me whenever I hear about these catholic rituals. When did the apostles “venerate” the saints? Also these “traditions” aren’t even found in the Bible I’m like 90 percent sure.

Protestants and Catholics are both cheeks of the same ass. Jfl at the fact that either think they’re better than the other. Especially when they go against their very “holy book”

Pure Protestantism can't be called a sect, it's the definition "Orthodox" - personal relationship with God and the Bible as authority

The ethiopian church is very interesting, they're some of earliest christians in the world. I've also heard that that is why europeans didn't try to colonize them for a such long time, cause they were fellow christians.

No. Protestants defected from the Catholic and Orthodox Church this makes them by default “sectarian” which is why there’s over 10 different prot sects. Such as “Methodist, Anglican, Baptist, bbc (joke), Calvinist (heretical), Pentecostal, Lutheran” and many more I am too lazy to name.

The only Christian’s that follow the church are Orthdox, even the Catholics don’t because they added nonsense to their creed but they pretend they do.

I orginally was from Ethiopian Church but the heretical Rasta form of it. The Russians gave them weapons but euros did try to colonise them it’s jsut harder when Ethiopians unlike most Africans saw themslevs as a nation already and had weapons from Russia.

Ignore the textbook definition and pay attention to the practices. Those "sects" you mentioned are mostly cultural divisions due to the lack of centralized authority, their beliefs are 99% the same. They all believe each one of them is valid despite their minor differences

The apostles made it clear that the church fathers are to establish the body of Christ in the church. You guys spit on this by not following and adhering to this. That’s why I am

where? Since you’re a good catholic boy, you should know the verses where it says you’re allowed to pray to saints pictures (jfl). Or the weird holidays that the prophets also celebrated. like even a guy like me knows praying to saints gotta be a sin.

We don't pray to the saints “instead” of to God, just as any Christian does not ask his fellow Christians to pray for him instead of going directly to God with his concerns. Rather, we enlist Saints, along with the rest of the Church, to pray to God to hear us and have mercy on us.

I’m orthodox not catholic but im sure they do it for the same reason as us. Once again I only pray to Jesus and I don’t personally message saints myself just being honest

The Church is indeed the Body of Christ. What these people are, past and present, are the actual followers of Jesus of Nazareth. The first such people are known today as the Apostles.

The first thing the Apostles did was to get together and begin teaching. They evangelised in the Holy Temple of Jerusalem. That didn't last long. The Jews of Jerusalem who had ears to hear were all scooped up very quickly.

Then they started evangelising synogogues further and further away from Jerusalem. More converts came, who had ears to hear. However, the problem they ran into was finding a way to Worship in a manner befitting of God, whilst attempting to convert Jews in synogogues. What did they have to offer?

We are talking on the scale of weeks, here, not decades.

Well, being devout Jews imbued with the Holy Spirit, they created a Liturgy. This Liturgy was based upon that which they knew about correct Worship of God from their own Temple.

The step brother of Jesus of Nazareth, named James the Just, the son of Joseph, himself eventually created and codified an appropriate Liturgy for this early Church. Yes, it was exceedingly well organised from the very, very beginning. It was not as is often done today in churches which are not Orthodox. The very step brother of Jesus created this Divine Liturgy. And the Apostles, all imbued with the Holy Spirit from Jesus Himself, all approved and joined in.

Why?

Because they all felt that this is how it is supposed to be done.

Within a few hundred years, other great Theologians like Saint Basil the Great and Saint John Chrysostom added a prayer here and there, but by the year 400 it was set. And it was all started by the Apostles, as were many Churches. In fact, there is 1 Church in the world which still uses the Divine Liturgy as created exactly by Saint James the Just. It is very little different from the other Liturgies used in that Church, because the other Liturgies only include a few more prayers for the Priest than Saint James the Just did. That, too, is the Orthodox Church.

By the year 400, there were 5 main Churches in the world, evangelistically speaking. They were broken up into 5 because it was easier to centralise their efforts and resources for missionary purposes. They were the Churches of Jerusalem, Antioch, Alexandria, Constantinople and Rome. All 5 were perfectly interchangeable in beliefs and practices, with minor local flavours allowed. Jerusalem did not send out missionaries so much, but the other 4 Churches did. One went in each direction. Clever, huh?

By 800, the Church of Rome started to drift away. They started allowing ideas within their teachings which the other 4 Churches refused, and in fact said were recent inventions. Rome didn't care. Rome had decided that if She said something, that it must be true because she said it. This was a new idea that the other 4 Churches did not agree to.

By 1154, Rome was so far astray from the other 4, that when Rome tried to make demands of obedience from them, particularly from the Bishop of Constantinople, the other 4 told Rome that she was in grievous error. Rome, then, on Easter Sunday, broke ties with the other 4. In the following 1000 years, Rome has continued to move further and further away, inventing more and more ideas which did not come from the Apostles. These are ideas which are demonstrably and provably new ideas, however, Rome has repeatedly claimed that these ideas are not new, but were not fully understood or shared earlier, but are now when it is convenient for them to be so known.

The 4 Eastern Churches continued to evangelise new lands and create new Churches, as did Rome, with 1 exception: Rome continued to demand total obedience to only Rome in these new Churches, so that there are no “National Churches” of Roman ideology. The Eastern 4 Churches created National Churches which allowed for local language and flavour to be maintained, as long as the doctrine was totally consistent with the other Churches. That's why there are Orthodox Churches of Russia, Greece, Roumania, Bulgaria, Serbia, etc. They all teach the same beliefs, but in different languages and with different cultures.

Down to today.

The Church of Antioch, for example, is still headquartered in “Straight Street”, the very street that was mentioned in the Book of Acts. And the Church of Antioch, which existed when Acts was written and is “the first place where people were called Christians”, is an Orthodox Church. They haven't changed, and won't change. In fact, Saint Peter Himself was their first Bishop, before he ever step foot in Rome. They are the first actual “successors of Peter.”

In light of all of this, in terms of doctrine, theology, liturgy and practice, there is only 1 Church who can literally claim, straight out and with boldness, that they have been here since the Apostles walked the Earth, and have not invented new ideas to explain their desires. They just happen to have branches in most languages and most nations on Earth. And they can offer you Truth and Wisdom until the end of time, because the gates of Hell will never prevail against Her.

Pentecostal is the largest Christian sect. Most of Asia and African Christian’s are off this sect and so are American Christian’s. It’s a branch from rednecks and Africans who couldn’t stop dancing and now it’s become a cancer that even Latinos are adopting over Catholicism.

No, orthodoxy is the Orginal Christian sect which follows what the ancient Christian’s did and do. It is not bastardised like other sects, and they have proven to be the most devout that’s why they can get conquered by atheist dictators like Stalin and Muslims even Vikings etc and still keep to their faith. This is unique for them and them alone

Western Christians are a meme that’s why they allow stupid shit like LGBT and they hate on catholics but now Catholicism is becoming “WOKE”
The last bastion is Eastern Orthodoxy and oriental
