People with any semblance of tech literacy would find ways around a VPN age verification system. If anything though, this is a terrible idea as it would likely push people into darker areas of the internet where there’s actual crazy content.

The main concern is not about getting around it, but rather why we have all of this happening all of sudden. The EU is planning on scanning encrypted messages before it’s sent.

Just in case you thought in Bonkers Britain we couldn’t get any worse, we have now had our children’s commissioner — whatever the fuck that is — call for the age verification of all Britons using a VPN amid porn ban.

A government spokesperson states there is no plan to truly ban VPNs, but didn’t rule out age verification on them that of which restricted content under the new act succumbs to.
