If you had invested in NVDIA, TSMC, ORACLE corporation 1.8 years ago when ChatGPT was just launched you would have increased your net worth by 5x approx by now. I still believe you can earn just as much within few years by investing in AI right now as we speak.

2 months ago you could have said an AI video is AI. You can easily spot semi-monotonous tone, uneven fingers and other flaws. Only boomers used to be fooled by that shit.

This is AI right now as of Oct 2025, take a look at this shit -

If somebody had shown you these videos just 2 years ago you would have outright believed it. Heck even I thought this is real until I saw the username.

Years ago, I used to think people like Andrew Yang were crazy when they talked about how UBI would be needed as a social safety net because AI would be taking everyone's jobs. Now, I'm thinking more and more that it's the case.

AI will 100% take everyone's jobs in the future, and UBI will be needed.

main thing preventing AI takeover rn are these two things..

Al essentially doesn't "understand" things the way humans do it just predicts words based on patterns and probabilities. You can think of it as very advanced and sophisticated probability machine whose entire job is predicting the next word so it will always fundamentally suffer from the above problem no matter what.

So we basically need a new "Einstein of Al" like someone who can rethink the entire approach. Right now Al is built on brute force statistical learning. It mimics intelligence but like i said it is not intelligent in the same way humans and animals are. To takeover high skilled jobs you need something like AGI(Artificial General intelligence). Something like this will be fully capable of replacing humans. Experts are very mixed on when or if this will ever happen but until AGI becomes a reality I don't think AI will takeover high skilled Jobs. The ones that will lose their jobs first are people doing repetitive Redundant work like accounting, data entry etc. infact ai has already replaced most of them but high skilled work not yet. If AGI does come out we are cooked but that remains to be seen.

Very interesting.

Do you think it's really that important that the AI "understands" what they're doing? So long as they can complete the tasks they need to I don't think it truly matters that much if they can understand what they're doing. Of course, this does cause an issue with scaling e.g if you're trying to get it to do highly skilled jobs like humans do, then yeah, you will need it to be AGI, but a lot of jobs that we currently do don't require a big skillset. Robots have basically already replaced humans in assembling cars & production lines. It's been cheaper to build robots to do everything for a while now. AI will only accelerate further job loss.

I looked at your poll in one of the threads you linked. You think AGI will become a thing by 2030-2040? I'm personally not surprised by this because of the sheer amount of advances in AI technology within just a few years.

What do we do when AI is fully capable of doing (basically) everything humans can do? Do you think UBI be something that is guaranteed in the future at this rate?

Correct. This is the crux of Altman's argument..Al doesn't need true understanding or reach AGI levels it just needs to reliably produce the right outputs as long as the task is structured and rule based, intelligence per se isn't necessary. The real bottleneck is when the work involves abstract reasoning, creativity, or transferable skills which is where you hit the road.

As for timelines 2030-2040 for AGI is plausible. Most experts think it will take longer but optimists think we should be able to figure out by then. Like I said opinions are very mixed because this isn't an easy problem but then again there is billions of dollars being put in. OpenAI recently hit half a trillion dollars without going public

Tbh I'm not sure I never taught about universal basic income ever becoming a thing. It seems so alien to me because the entire reason neetbux exists is because there are people working. Btw AI hasn't just taken jobs there are many winners of the AI train also. It has created a seperate niche job market for vibe coders, AI scientists being paid NBA money and also democratised coding

There will be no UBI, the only income will be from ownership of the output of AI slaves via the stock market.

Governments are already on the brink of collapse due to trying to maintain social functions from the taxes derived from an ever decreasing - in real terms - income of workers. Doesn’t take a genius to see that’s not sustainable.

You are thinking in too small and limited terms

When AI will ever be able to think like a human, absolutely everything about the outside world, which we know now, will end / change completely in the next 5-10 years from that moment (like how life was before and after the pandemic)

AI will be able to replace our politicians first, find a better method of governing and leading humanity, and completely change the capitalist system into something much better and sustainable

AI will be able to create new technologies or inventions, from teleportation to genetic engineering with a 100% chance of success, managing to create perfect people in terms of human limitations, but also helping them overcome their condition through technology and mutant genes

teleporting star trek GIF by HULU
stop motion paper GIF by Massive Science

This takes us to the next step, which is immortality, infinite life, through the ability to transfer the parts of our brain that degrade with parts that don't degrade, by conditioning our body to no longer lose certain abilities and properties over time, or if it loses them, to be able to replace them, like a wheel on a car

Eventually we will no longer have diseases, suffering, the brain will no longer have negative states, anger, dissatisfaction, or the need for water or food to live

After that, the complete automation of everything through machines and technology. Absolutely anything you want will be teleported inside your house/spaceship floating in space, for free, instead of paying an immigrant to deliver your food to you

In the first phase, everything will tend towards safety and comfort, to preserve the most important desires of life, namely ensuring a life of luxury, reproduction, etc. for everyone

The 2nd phase will be where we will be able to satisfy absolutely any chemical desire in our brain, using technology, namely paradise, entering a state of permanent sleep and dream, where we will experience paradise for as long as we want, without wanting real life anymore

And the 3rd, final state will be the combination of them:

- Immortality, without the need for anything external to sustain existence
- The state of continuous and eternal happiness and joy, without any condition or need for external factors for it to happen
